Students from all degree programs are afforded the opportunity to participate in one of four concert bands, as well as the marching and athletic bands. While Summer Sessions are an important tool that can be used for veteran members and candidates alike, attendance is not required to audition for the marching band. Mikkelson We have video of an historic halftime show from Ohio Stadium on Saturday as the Ohio State Marching Band and the Iowa Marching Band combined for a tribute to music legend Elton John. Under the direction of marching band staff and student leaders, participants learn the music and military-style marching fundamentals used by the Ohio State Marching Band in an encouraging, fun and interactive environment. Much like the football team, it takes practice, blood, sweat, and tears to get it right.
